Chinova Resources is a private Australian resources company owned by the Shanxi Donghui Group of Companies, with principal activities focussed in North‐West Queensland.  The company has existing operations at Osborne, south of Cloncurry, as well as several development projects and extensive exploration activity on a large tenement holding in the region.

The Osborne Extended Mine Life Project (EML Project) will mine six million tonnes from three brownfield mines at Starra, extending the Osborne site life by several years.  Commencing early 2022, mining will initially focus on the open pits at Starra 254 and 222, with ore hauled approximately 50km by road trains back to Osborne for processing.   Ore processing at Osborne is planned to recommence in mid 2022 and underground mining at Starra 222 will recommence in early 2023. Chinova has other open pit and potential underground projects expected to commence within the EML Project timeframe.

We are seeking an experienced Exploration Field Technician to join our Geology team. 

Reporting to the Exploration Supervisor you will join a small and collaborative technical team with your primary responsibility being to support the regional exploration programs. Main duties will include GPS navigation to conduct soil, stream & rock chip sampling; working safely around drill rigs collecting RC/AC samples; marking up/processing of drill core; taking magnetic susceptibility and SG readings; RQD measurements; photographing, core cutting and sample despatch. 

To be successful in this role you will need to be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors. Several years’ field experience supporting regional geology and exploration programs is required. You will have a strong safety focus and ensure Chinova’s landholder, cultural heritage and environmental obligations are adhered to. A Forklift license and pXRF certification will be advantageous.
