Herston Private Hospital is a newly established facility offering first-class surgical services to children and adults. Originating as a purpose-built facility, we are a state of the art, stand-alone, three operating theatre, day and short stay private hospital. HPH houses a CSSD within the operating theatres, eight first stage recovery beds and eight second stage recovery chairs. Herston Private Hospital also has accommodation for seven short stay patients.

As the Theatre Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), to provide professional nursing leadership and clinical management within the Perioperative Unit which includes 3 operating theatres and the central sterilising and stores department. The Theatre Clinical Nurse Coordinator has a ‘can do’ attitude that supports the delivery of timely, safe, evidence-based practice and person-centred care, as well as quality and cost-effective patient care in a cost-effective manner that optimises clinical, operational, and financial performance.
The Theatre Clinical Nurse Coordinator will ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of clinical activities of the day hospital. Working with the Clinical Team, Medical Practitioners and other stakeholders, the position will promote Herston Private Hospital’s Culture, Vision and Values and the accountability of Herston Private Hospital to its diverse constituents.
As a member of Herston Private Hospital’s health care team, the Theatre Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for safe, efficient and effective coordination and provision of services, by utilising a high standard of skills and procedures in accordance with industry and hospital guidelines (AS 4187:2014) and ACORN standards.
